Mine was a no brainer... buy a grand am... or buy a mustang. Like come on... in my price range there was nothing that even resembled it's looks. I was asked once if my car was BRAND NEW hahaha... its 10 years old .

My Dad had a 65 straight six in his twenties and decided the Mustang would be a good car to get me started. The year I turned 13 Dad bought my 66 Candyapple Red 289 3spd coupe, flew in to Abilene, bought his 69 Blue ragtop and drove in to Haskell where I was living. We restored the cars together. I was cool to see the driveway decked out in red, white, and blue, especially on July 4th. He taught me how to doing anything in that car without using a tach. To this day I rarely look at a tach and I am on my third Mustang. Unfortunately, I got t-boned in the 66 and had to recycle her. My Dad still has his and I am still trying to get it from him.

#1: Mustangs have been around since the 60's and continue to press on

#2: Their looks are unmatchable

#3: Very reliable and safe

#4: Without the mustang, what do the challenger and camaro have to battle? It completes the pack!

I was a 15 year old kid in 1982 when my dad came home from work one day and took me to look at a car. That car was a mistreated '66 mustang that we took home for $550. After some unforgetable father/son time and hard work it cleaned up pretty nicely. I repeated the process with my son a few years ago with another "66 fixer upper and it turned out even better. My daughter is now 15 and the proud caregiver to a '94 mustang convertable. I guess it runs in the family.
