Default Help on a 1998

I seen a 2002 v6 mustang and just had to buy it and not a day to soon. a day or two after buy it I was driving my 1998 v6 and something came loose in the transmission and i lost 1st 3ed 5th and reverse in my transmission. I replaced the transmission with a 1997 mustanf and changed the clutch and flywheel. But that did not fix the problem about a week after doing that I was driving down the interstate doing 75 and the drive shaft fell off 2 of the bolts broke on me and the other two either came loos and worked ther was out but i did use lock tight on the bolts. I was told that the damage was in the transmission, driveshaft and rearend. Because once the boults were replaced and all the rearend just dont sound or act right and the transmission just wines. So now the question is

Can you replace a 1998 mustang V6 transmission, DriveShaft, And Rearend with a 1998 Mustang GT parts? I know that the rearend can be changed but is the driveshaft and transmission ok also?

The tranny from the GT will not bolt up to the motor. You need a 95 back GT, or another V6 T5.......

Check your motor mounts too.......

Any T5 will do..... You just need to make sure the input shafts are the same length.......

Oops, motor mounts were another thread...... Sorry......

So any t5 will do ok. So when I get the rearend off of the 1998 Gt will there be any difference from the 1998 V6 rearend to the 1998 Gt rearend? Is There a better year to go with? Is there any difference in the driveshafts? Thank you for any help you are able to give

The rear end is a direct fit. You will then have 3:08's with a t-lock. Driveshafts are exactly the same......
