Armor all on rubber hoses and plastic covers makes it shine, but is also a magnet for dust and road grime. I just spray mine off when I was the car and it looks fine!

I use silicone spray lube, It puts a nice shine on all the plastic and rubber parts under the hood. And on the PLUS side, it keeps all of the rubber parts from drying out from the heat under the hood..
And at about $3.00 can it can't be beat..

I start off with a bottle of simple green & some ol rags. 1nce I get all the grime & gunk off, I make everything all shiny & purrrrdy with silecone based Tire Wet, Tire & Trim (applied sparingly).
