Default Can the stock transmission handle 300 HP?

I have a 2003 mustang V6 automatic and I have saved big buck that I am getting ready to dump into my car. My goal is to be close to 300 rwh. I am going to swap my axle to a 8.8 but I was wondering if my stock auto tranny will take it? I bought a tranny cooler and am going to buy a shift kit is that all i Will need? Oh and what is a good shift kit?

I have the J-mod from VAPauto. That thing shifts hard. With my SCT tuner and J-mod, i squeal second, even with the t-lock.

Show mods: Sequential tail light kit, GT fog lights, 8" shorty antenna, hood shocks, HID headlights, 17x9 inch Mach 1 rims wrapped in Vredestein Ultracs, and a chin spoiler.

wow sounds like it really helps so what is your opinion on a diablo sport predator tuner for my car. so you can spin them in first and second I would love that!!!

I meant when it shifts from first to second it sqeals them. I have the SCT X3 tuner with 93 octane tune from Justin at VMPtuning. I have never tried the diablo though. Maybe i have a video of my stang shifting...file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Setting...1/100_1152.MOV

I have a diablo tuner with 93 tune on it with my 4.10 I chirp the tires while shifting from 1st to 2nd the 93 tune that comes with it i am happy with.

how much does the j-mod cost to get installed?

i dont know how much it cost? Couple hundred mayb. They have to take off the tranny pan and unbolt the vb then just bolt the new one up.
Anyway yes, the stock 4r70w tranny can hold 300+ hp. The converter starts to slip around 350 hp.
J has run his stock 4r up to 530hp with a vb, and convertor. Then he got his build and it can hold 800 hp while retaining o/d functions.

Most of the handheld tuners are all the same. You can adjust fuel, rev limiters, spark, and some others too. However if you arent experienced then most of the time the tuners will lock out those functions. Which is better for you that way you dont blow up your car.
