Oh you're funny!

it comes with a 93 octane Performance Tune, which does your a/f and timing settings for you, (allows for user adjustment) and a 87 octane Factory Tune, which leaves your a/f & timing stock, but lets you adjust parameters such as 2-step rev limiter, speed limiter, gear ratio for speedometer correction, etc.

its a great tuner, it's just hardly anybody uses them it seems.
Can you adjust rev-limiter, speed limiter, shift points, etc for the 93 Perf tune? I really need to wake-up my auto tranny! I assume so...

yeah; you can adjust all that stuff with either tune you flash.

My SCT LIVEWIRE is on the UPS TRUCK today on my way to my house. I ordered it from AM and am super excited!!! However - I was a bonehead and told them I use 87 Octane and not 93 octane. Is this easy to change within the tuner or do I have to get another custom tune built for that case.

Also wondering after I change my stock headers to BBK Shortys if I can make hte adjustment or not. I probably should have waited to get the tuner until I was done with my bolt-ons. The upgrade bug has definitely bit me hard this Summer!! I think I spent like over 1300 in the past week at AM. I should own stock in them by now

Anyone out there have the SCT Livewire and if so - any good tips?

you can't change the octane on the tuner. you will have to get a whole different tune to run on 93 octane. trust me, a 93 octane performance tune is leaps and bounds better than an 87 octane tune. It is definitely worth every cent.

Contact AM as they offer free lifetime tunes that you download from the internet and load onto your tuner.

Stock, our cars come with shorty headers. So unfortunately, replacing them with BBK shorties is only a cosmetic upgrade. Hate to be the bearer of bad news... (If our stock was a manifold, then headers would be an upgrade. Also, long-tube headers are a decent upgrade, but they are not emissions legal.)
That being said, there really isn't anything that changes, so you can't "tune" for the different headers. Again, I don't like bringing ya bad news...
On a good note: tuners are ever adaptable - so when you add stuff in the future, you should be able to change a setting to take advantage of it! And yes, it seems like you have to buy a part from AM that actually requires a new tune in order for you to get a new tune. But since they support you for the life of the car, you can still change stuff on your own, or you can take it somewhere to be dyno-tuned: you can't go wrong.

Nope not at all, your only as strong as your weakist point.. your manifold+splitter are only so big and they only create so much vacuum so unless you have forced induction your never going to see huge gains. you can clean up the path and shorten the span but in the end its not worth the 200-300 CAI + 200-300 TB + 200-300 manifold.. thats close too 1G for a max of 20-40hp.. witch isn't much. at that rate save for a low grade turbo kit or used pro-charger. and get 60-100hp from that.

eeh i gave up on the tb when i can get port and polished heads for 200 im sure ill get more power out of that when i can combine it with a p/p intake manifold

Livewire - Really not worth the 5-600$ unless your just one of those "have to have it" type people.

not rly as somone else posted stangs came with shortys anyway the only gain youll get wit headers is long tubes.. but then youd be catless....

and not only that but headers arn't all that visible in a stang so polished is just them chargering you extra for a 5min shine job..

if you got 200 to spend and need to buy somthing go for some rly good spraks and wires and new injectors now there you will def feel a gain. then look into tiers and springs, gata have a foundation before you can build..

You would not see 20hp from that list of mods. Unless you are talking about porting and polishing the intake manifolds?? Even then you would be lucky to see 20hp... Just saying.
