100 mph+ in any car isn't a good idea with any car on the street...but preaching aside..
As the base model, the V6 Mustang doesn't have the proper equipment to handle that speed and keep you safe. I'm not entirely sure, but I think the stock tires are rated at 115 or 120 mph, meaning that your tires may not handle those triple digit speeds.
And if you're not going in a straight line, the V6 lacks a rear sway bar, subframe connectors, or anything else to prevent the car from severe under/oversteer.
It's not to say that the V6 isn't capable of it with a few minor mods, but a lot of us don't recommend it unless it's on a track to keep you and others safe.

I have never heard anything that applies to doing 100+ in a V6 mustang they are capable and I can only think of general saftey reasons like you said but as far as that I got nothing
i did that once i went 110 according to the speedmeter i shouldnt have it wasnt safe and im lucky i didnt get pulled over it felt weird i guess it was my adrenaline but dont do it not safe. Like i said im lucky i didnt hit anyone, our cars are not suppose go that fast not built to handle it, if you want to beef up your car and go to the track then its fine.

just thought i'd point out, the V6 convertibles do have subframe connectors.
but still...driving that fast is dangerous. if your tires are in less than perfect shape, or you run over something in the road and blow out a tire, the only question is which side of the road are you going to end up on.

It is not that these cars are not designed to do it. The V6 Mustang can safely run 100MPH+ in the right conditions, even totally stock. As long as you know the safe limits of how fast you can be going in all situations then there would be no reason to question safety. These conditions, however, never exist on public roadways.
The public road system is not designed for it. You can drive any car near it's top speed in the proper place. There are very few places in North America where it would actually be safe to drive over 80MPH. Add to that the fact that most people have no respect for other people when driving and you can quickly have a horrible accident that kills alot of people even if it is technically not your fault.
Said it before and I will say it again, if you gotta drive faster than the law allows then you need to go to a track. Otherwise, do us all a favor and don't do it on the streets.
PS: While the convertibles do have subframe connectors, they do lack a structural roof so the benefits of connectors are only to strengthen the loss of the roof.
i THINK,, that with the stock gears, no limiters, and some extra torque that the v6's would redline at about 155. ive heard that they hit the limiter [115] at about 3k rpm in 4th, and also someone hit 135 at about 4k rpm, so it would make sense that at the redline [5k rpm] the car would be going 155.
I could get my car to go to 200mph+ with the proper gearing, but it wasn't designed for that. Come to think of it, it would get there pretty quickly too.....

i THINK,, that with the stock gears, no limiters, and some extra torque that the v6's would redline at about 155. ive heard that they hit the limiter [115] at about 3k rpm in 4th, and also someone hit 135 at about 4k rpm, so it would make sense that at the redline [5k rpm] the car would be going 155.
Potentially yes the motor could spin the wheels that fast but realistically the stock v6 doesn't have the power to overcome the friction and wind resistance to achieve that speed. Not to mention the stock tires would probably shred around 125-130.
I've ran my car to just over 130, but I have Z rated tires and an additional 55 horses at the wheels. Along with suspension upgrades.
