As the Title suggests I ordered a Flow Master American Thunder and a Sequential tail light kit today and I'm so anxious I can't wait

But for the sequential tail light set I was wondering about the turn signal can you tell your braking when you use the turn signal? I really don't want to get rear ended lol

Yes, and they started putting a 3rd brake light on automobiles in the US in about 1984.

A little discussion came up as to the legality of sequentiel blinking lights... The sequentiel mod we all have, including pulsating third brake light is, in my opinion, legal... As always, check your provincial or state laws and CITY / MUNICIPAL BYLAWS in regards car modifications...

Here are some basics...

-Impersonating a police officer is a CRIMINAL offence.

-Be careful not to mistake "PIT LIGHTS" for "pulsating 3rd brake lights". A pulsating light becomes solid after X number of pulses. Pit lights, pulse continually like on F1's during a rain storm. On passenger vehicules, pit lights must be lit continuously like on high end luxury vehicules (those nasty red bumper lights).

-There is a difference between "sequentiel" and "alternating" lights. Using any kind of alternating sequence is illegal.

-Whites are for backup lights ONLY.

-Third brake lights are mandatory.

-Third brake lights that imitate law enforcement colours are illegal. SHOW PURPOSE ONLY.

-Some states and provinces require turn signals to be amber, if so, sequentiel red and amber would be considered illegal.

-Strobe lights are illegal except for specific types of vehicules (eg: tow trucks).

-Blinding brakes lights can be considered illegal.

-Tinting any lights is a ticklish subject... In my province, any type of tinting (spray, stick or clip on) is illegal.

I didn't even think about the legality of the tail lights....I'm friends with a couple of officers I'll talk to them about it I still have time to refuse the order.

"Sequential turn signal systems are legal in all 50 states and in Canada. I know of no state inspection that specifically states that sequential turn signals or sequential hazard flashers are illegal. Now, if used with a CLEAR rear lens, you will be out of compliance with nearly all state inspection reg's, and most state that you must have a RED rear reflector as part of the rear lens. So, that if the car is parked and no power is being delivered to the rear lights, an oncoming cars headlights must be able to see a red REFLECTION off the rear of the vehicle. All state inspection stations will have a copy of that states vehicle inspection code/rules and regulations. You will find no references to sequential taillight systems being illegal. Now a few states like Pennsylvania DO SPECIFY in their vehicle inspection code the min/max speed or rate by which the turn signals operate, like 60 FPM min, and 90 FPM max. (FPM = flashes per min)."

when i was checking out the new mustang fords website i thought i read that they come stock with sequential tail lights so they cant be illegal. also i had heard of newer high end cars coming out with a 3rd brake light that pulses with how hard you are applying the break, but then goes solid. this might have just been something they were talking about doing i cant remember

yeah the 2010 Mustangs come stock with the sequential tail lights

2005-09 were going to come stock with them but they dropped that for some reason idk, I just can't wait for them to come in lol
