Default 1999 v6 mustang sound at end of shift

the other day i punched my stang and at the end of second gear it make a weird belt sound? and then it seemed like it missed a shift coming out of 3rd gear? i had to let off for it to shift then it made the weird sound again.??

What did it sound like? Did it have to do with the tranny or are one of your pullies starting to bind?

its hard to explain.. it seemed like it didn't want to shift at end of rpm band but when i let off the gas it shifted, then it makes like a.. it sounded like a weird belt sound, and few times i did it, i smelt a burning like a carbon smell.

ok so i showed my older brother, he said it is a belt sound.... now with our transmissions, i say our because i've seen a few mustangs jerk during shifting at high RPM.. is it suppose to jerk forward while shifting?..
