Default 2009 shifting mark?

Hi all -

I'm new to both the Mustang (having purchased a new '09 in May) and to manuals. Of course I had to have both. Now, the question I have for the experts...

When should I be shifting from gear to gear?

I've been driving it rather timidly to break it in, and to get really comfortable with the stick, but I think I'm ready after 4k miles to start seeing what it can do.

Any help is appreciated.

That could be a problem. How are you supposed to find the mark if it keeps shifting?

Sorry for the confusing title - I mean the RPM points to shift from e.g. 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd, etc.

I think there should be "recommendations" in your owners manual.

When I'm driving casually i shift at when i hit 2000 - 2500 RPMS or so, but that's just me.

For good gas mileage, 2K is enough. For fun, nothing but redline will do!
