My 1996 4.6 GT was broken into and the ignition switch was broken off. The steering column is intact, just the black key holder was broken off. The key still starts the car, but my question is as follows: Does this vehicle have a anti-theft chip in the key and if so, should it be replaced by a locksmith to prevent theft?

Sorry to hear about your Stang... What part exactly is missing? The whole lock cylinder? Or just the black plastic that guides the key? Lock cylinders are pretty easy to replace... but I think you might need a new key to go with it. That same site sells various parts too. Hope this helps - let me know if you have any more questions!
