I've got an appointment to get my exhaust done this saturday..when I bring it in he told me to tell him everything I want to get done...He said he can keep the left side exhaust pipe, and tail pipes, and just change a new muffler and tip for the left side, and give me a whole new right side...Are the stock pipes on the V6 mustang, 2 inch? or 2/14 If there 2 inch, is there BIG difference from if I got 2 inch pipes, rather than 2 1/4 inch pipes, with 2 1/2 inch tips? or will that be about the same..If there 2 inch, im just going to go ahead and get all new pipes for both side..but if the stock is 2 1/4 that will save me a little money to go ahead and keep it..unless its really restrictive?..let me know wut you guys think.. thanks for the help...

2 inch pipes should be fine for a stock engine . . . you may need more in anticipation of a power adder, or an engine swap, but for all intents and purposes, as Silver says, 2.25 and 2.5 can be too large without restrictions from the cats and the headers.

if you go with the cat back system from MAC with the Y-pipe and 2.5" pipes from there, you'll be fine. Don't go with an H-pipe until you have more ponies runnin under the hood. With the Y-pipe you still keep the back pressure so you don't loose your torque, and you gain a nice sound and a few extra ponies and not to mention some nice chrome tips.

Oh gezzzzz I had to read that twice....
1) I notice in your signature that you are planning on getting the Saleen body kit.... If that is in your future, then hold off on the exhaust because you will need to get the exhaust redone at the tips because the routing will be different.
2) If you must get dual exhaust, just get the Quasi-Dual kit instead, which just bolts on and does not require any custom welding, and you won't need to worry about loosing too much back pressure.
3) Keep your setup untill your ready to do the body kit.
