Well i have a 2000 v6 and it tops out at 195 km/hr

It can go faster (I've heard 130mph for the stock engine), but there is a speed limiter in the ECU that blocks you at 110mph - I should know, I've been there. Regardless, you probably won't even see that speed at the track (around a 10sec 1/4 mile) and you really shouldn't on the roadways. So, I wouldn't worry about it too much until you've built your engine and are into racing...

the speed limiter on the 99-04 cars kicks in at 115mph.
on a stock engine, you can get up to around 120mph if you have enough room.

You could always remove the speed limiter with a tuner, but honestly, how often are you going to have a chance to go that fast?

Once you hit 90, it's like hitting a wall. It would take forever just to get from 90 to 120. So, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Companies put speed limiters on for reasons, too, not just to piss people off. Usually because certain parts are only rated for that particular speed. In our case, 115 mph.

Most of the time the tires are the reason. You know most people go with the cheapest tire they can find. Most of those don't have the best speed rating......
