Default Storing car in az heat

I store my 2009 v-6 connvertible stang in the extreme heat in Arizona in my garage. Does anyone know of a good way to avoid rubber rot on the trim or tires? I know that sometimes when I get back to town after the car has set for 4 or 5 months the tires get a flat spot. When I drive,,, The tires make a floping sound for the first week or so. This cant be good. Also, the battery life is said to be shortened considerably after high heat storage. Any suggestions???

mine i stored in the FL heat, its not as hot as AZ i dont think..but when ever i store mine the tires get flat spots. They usually go away like you said after alittle bit of driving.

As far as the battery thing, i usually take the battery out of it when i store it. So i cant comment on that.

So far i havnt had any problems...

Other than adding climate controls to your garage, you are pretty much at the mercy of mother nature. You could also install some sort of wind driven vent fan in the roof of your garage to try to help but nothing short of air conditioning is gonna solve your problem.

to avoid getting flat-spots in your tires while your car sits for a long time, set your pressures to around 50psi.

this is what dealerships do to their new cars before they are sold, because they sit for a while.

also, since your car is an 09 im sure warranty will cover any damaged mouldings or other rubber trim.

Disconnect the battery if it is going to sit for long periods of time.
