Default 1998 Mustang V6 250+ crate or rebuild?

my 98 V6 is a great car ive put alot of time in her but sally just dont have the power i know she should and i think the miles are to blame i was wonder what would be my beat bet to have it rebuilt or to get a 3.8 crate motor i planned on doing some modds on it like what price range is it to put t-lock and subframe connectors on it?

Single port crate motors will not help. I would get a 99-00 crate motor instead. You will either need to get a 99-00 computer and re-pin the harness, or get a tuner and dynotune......

Everything drivetrain related is the same......

T-locks can be done by yourself with some tools and knowledge. There is a write-up on the top of the tech page......

i would opt for a 01-04 since the split port has butterfly valves to open the short runners at high rpms. the 99-00 intakes are just open all the time.

The IMRC's will not work as you are suggesting. You would then need a complete harness and computer from the '01+, along with a new flywheel/pressure plate to accommodate the internally balanced motor. That's why I suggested the 99-00.......

00 sounds good for me i just want the power back and i thought i would have to put a new harness on a 2004 or a 2000 3.8 motor because its a different motor so diff computer is that right or are the 99-00 motors all compatable with 98 stock computer and harness. and you said that the drive train componets are all compatable with 99-00.so on gears i thought they ran different gears in 00 could be wrong.and would my stock diff with a t-lok just as good as a 00 mustang with a t-lok stock.and how hard is it to turbo out a 3.8 or if i go 00 its a 4.0 right? what internals would i need to change so when i get a 00 motor i can put them im . and ok cam shaft bigger or better can u put a bigger cam in and would u get more power or should i put a better grade in so i knowit will last
