Default Possible Hub Bearings???

Hey ya'll, It's been a while since i posted anything here! Hope everyone are doing well? As for me? I had let a friend of mine use my 01 v6 (I named her, rosalina) when I went away for work. When he picked me up from the airport with my car, i noticed a humming sound when driving over 70 mph only!! I kinda noticed it way before but didn't think twice about it. Now, whenever i drive between 50-70 mph or more in the highway with the radio off, it gets alittle anoying with this humming. I know it's not my tires... Could it be a Hub Bearing??? Also, if it is my bearings, would my rear end shift to the side whenever i hit a bump??? My friend even noticed it when he borrowed it and was driving slow cause he didn't want to fishtail whenever it rained!!

could be a hub bearing, and when the go the can make the tires wobble. Get the tires off the ground and see if you can wiggle them up and down, it will feel like the lug nuts are loose.

I'll have to do that! If it is the hub bearings, do you think it will be expensive to replace? I saw somewhere for a pair it's $95

i did both my hub bearings myself. it took about 10 minutes each. they cost me about $60 each. a shop will probably charge like 1.5 hours labor to replace them (both). at least an hour anyway.

Ok, well, I lifted my car today and tried to see if it was giving any play. It's on there good and i don't see any signs of wear on the bearings!!! But then gain, I'm not sure on how the bearings should look for I never had to change them before!

You will be able to tell when they go... Trust me...

From the sounds of it they are probably going out but haven't gone totally bad yet. I have had problems with mine in the past, I think two or three times I have had to replace them on the Mustang... lol They have all been my fault though.

When they go out go out you will be able to lift the car and shake the wheel around, when they are ****** you can leave the car sitting on the ground and see the wheel bent inward where they are horrible.

On my old Mercedes they went so bad that the driver side rear ate through the axle and I had to replace the entire rear end. Do you know how expensive an entire IRS is for a 190e?!?! You don't want to know...

Mine have been bad for at least 8 months now. I lift the car about every two weeks to see if their is any play in the wheel and none has happened yet. When their is play is when I will fix them. I am hoping that they last long enough so that I can get an 8.8". I was going to keep the 7.5" but to rebuild the rear end with posi, and fix the hubs it will be cheaper to swap in the 8.8". lol
