Default What direction should my sub face

So i had a touch screen with a nice system in my stang..( two 1500 watt amps for voice and base) someone broke into my car a few days ago and didnt even leave me a thank u note for the 1000 dollars system they took....now i bought one 12 inch sub with a box and idk which way to place it...facing the backseat? ive heard about this idk if it makes any sence or... against the backseat facing the trunk which is the way i had my other system and is the more logical way .....or does anyone have a diff setup since the trunk space in a mustang is very limited

Well in the back corner facing forward is how I have my subs. It saves the majority of your trunk and looks nice. But if you have a custom box or can build one and don't mind taking your whole trunk facing down is the best way for a sub to face. Alot of people will say that it makes them hit a little harder. I dunno I have never tried it and dunno if you could tell that big of a difference but it would be unique none the less.

Sub tones are omni-directional, meaning it doesn't matter where it is located. It does not have to be facing you like the tweeters for best effect. That's why you see them mounted just about anywhere.....

i've noticed in my stang they sounded better when facing the rear, they just sounded deeper. i think the theory is as the sound waves bounce off the rear of the trunk before coming into the cabin they slow down and become deeper.

i had my old ones facing the rear ...but i heard that if the box its too big it would block the sound waves from getting into the cabin ..the box that i bought now its alot smaller its one sub 12in before i had two 10in subs.....
