Default 1998 Mustang V6 air conditioning problem

I turned on the air conditioner today and the air blows cold out of the defrost vents. No matter where i put the selector switch except off, the air is now blowing only from defrost vents. Is there a valve problem or could it be electrical? any help would be appreciated

Markstang,

I found a broken a/c vacuum line under the hood. Thank you for your guidance. You are my hero.
