Default 2003 Mustang V6. Questions about used parts?

As most of you know I am still in the planning stages of my project and will soon post a thread for the start of my build.
For those of you who are in the middle of a build or have completed a build I have a question.
I know the only way that I can do this is if I buy some stuff used. I have bought used stuff before for other projects I have built. But I was wondering if you guys could be more specific in what would be a good deal for used parts (not price – what used parts would be ok to look for). What would be parts that you would be looking for used or new but for a deal.
I know that there is a lot of things that are buyer beware and things that you should just steer clear of.

BTW, I have decided to stick with the V6.

Thanks.

You are way too vague......

What kind of parts? It seems like you are talking in code. We cannot list every part you might need for a build just so you know what and what not to buy.....

ya i agree with him ^... It all depends on which parts... Personally, I wouldn't buy anything that is important used because you can never trust used parts. Give us a list of parts your trying to swap out

Sorry, what I was getting at was bolt-on parts mainly but also some other things.

Such as pulleys, caster/camber plates, k-members, throttle bodies, fans, transmissions.

For example I seen an add online the other night were a guy was parting out his car and it had a rebuilt T-5 with a heavy duty GT gearset that he only put about 350 miles on and he wanted like $500.00 for it.

I have also seen where guys are parting whole cars out and have really decent prices on things. I know obviously brakes, injectors and such I wouldn't buy used, that is asking for problems.

Like I said I have even seen a 5,000 mile tear down where there was nothing wrong with the motor itself the guy decided he wanted a V8. That sort of thing - he was parting the engine out because no one wanted a complete engine. He had SSM heads for like $500.00 and they looked brand new.

This help?

You can use most parts off any car as long as they are in decent condition. Injectors, pullies, accessories, etc. can all be used.

There is really no such thing as a GT gearset in a T5. He may have taken the tranny out of a GT which would have been from '95 and older, but they were not as strong as the '99+ T5's in our V6 cars......
