Default Can you put a 8.8 t-lock in a v6?

Will an 8.8 t-lock work in a v6? Or only the 7.5? I'm looking at this one with some 3.73 gears to go with it...

If you upgrade to a GT rear end, it'll work (but I think the GT rear end already has a T-lock). Otherwise, you need to go with the 7.5 T-lock.

Those are expensive. Just get a Ford Racing one and call it a day. Avg. price is around $200.00 shipped.....

Ok so I've read, this will fix my 1 wheel spin problem and have both wheels spinning correct? Also where can I find some 3.73 gears that are 7.5" ? AM is out of stock looks like, and will there be a big difference in an 8.8 and a 7.5 ?

8.8s are stronger, but they can make our sixers sluggish. You shouldn't have a problem with the 7.5 unless you break 300 hp.

Changing to a T-Lok will allow both wheels to spin under power. It is not a problem, just the way they were designed. The stock V6 has an open differential. In other words all of the power goes to one of the wheels (the passenger).
The main difference between the 7.5 and 8.8 is strength. The 7.5 is plenty strong up to 300 or so horsepower. If you are staying under that mark you should have no problems with the stock rear end. shinerstang can chime in and let you know all about the strengths of a well built 7.5.
As for AM being out of stock, I'd email them and ask when they are getting them in. They are the most reliable and cheapest shop out there. Plus you can get 6% off your purchase if you PM AMNick and ask for the discount code.

A t-lock is easy, gears are best left for the professionals. There is a "t-lock how to" stickied at the top of the tech page......
