Default need some advice on exhaust

my 2001 v6 has dinomax true duals on it but isnt very loud so i called the muffler shop an asked the guy about it and he said he could take off the cattelac (sp?) converters but in his opinion it would just sound like a "mad bumblebee". i asked him was there anything else he could do and he said no.. so now im here askin what yall think. anybody ever had this done before and does it make the car sound horrible/wimpy? would it be best to just leave well enough alone? thanks everyone!

I wouldn't do that. It can make our sixers sound raspy. I would get some flowmasters put on, maybe 40's or 44's.

"catalytic" convertor.

yeah, from what i've seen on youtube and such, going catless on a 6'er makes it sound raspy, and can cause you to lose too much backpressure, and then your car will hate you and run like a 3-legged horse.

you could try replacing your 4 stock cats with 2 highflow cats, that might be worth looking into.
