bullitt and mach 1 mustangs are limited edition mustangs built by ford.. steeda, roush, and saleen mustangs are rebuilt by a separate company with improved parts and have certain different qualities about them.. the bullitt has a somewhat souped up 4.6 3v V8, a mach 1 has a 4.6 32v dohc V8 and steeda is a normal gt with some handling mods and UD pulleys

what year bullit are we talking about here?

the 01 has a 2v 4.6L with a ford "cai" and ecu tune, subframe connectors, front/rear swaybars, front strut tower brace and sits 0.75" lower.

the 08 has a 3v 4.6L with a ford "cai" and ecu tune, front trut tower brace; i assume subframe connectors and front/rear swaybars as well, along with a lower ride height.

aesthetically, the 01 bullit differs from the 99-04 GT/V6 with unique sail panels, rocker panels, and lack of a rear spoiler.

the 08 bullit differs from the other s197's with a different front fascia with foglamp delete and lack of a rear spoiler. im sure there are a few other things as well.
bullitts usually have around 15 more hp than the GT of its year.

the 03-04 mach1 has a 305hp 4v 4.6L, has a functional shaker scoop in its hood, and has unique sail panels.

Just to add to what Markstang690 & 232-K7 said, in addition to a tighter suspension package & slight power increases over a stock GT, Ford engineered & tuned the New Edge & S197 Bullitts to emulate the sound of Steve McQueen's '68 Fastback in the classic Warner Bros. film bearing the same name "Bullitt" (1968).

The '01 Special Edition came with the same 57mm twin bore throttle body used in the SVT Cobras for the same year. Borrowing from the SVT Cobras brakes + 17" wheels round out the package in addition to some appearance mods (Brushed aluminum fuel door, Bullitt badging, white guages, Bullitt pedals etc).

While the HP differences between the Bullitt & the stock GT are slight, the Bullitt pulls harder off the line thanks to noticable increases in ft/lbs of torque.

Their are different models of Steeda Mustangs just as their are different models of Roush, Saleen etc. etc. I personally like Steeda more than any other aftermarket company out there.
