Default need Help with first repair/mod

This is my second post so here goes I have a 95 V6 vert and the Odometer and tripmeter quit working. I saw the repair info and is there anything else I need to do besides what is provided any additional help is appreciated

well the first thing i would check is the speedo gear. On the driver side of your transmission toward the back you will see a plug that goes into the tailshaft housing. Should be the very last possible wiring coming out of the tranny. This plug is held in by an 11mm bolt (pretty sure of the size) if you take out the bolt and pull the speedo gear out and there are no teeth on the gear thats ur problem. They are cheap plastic gears and happens all the time. the speedo and tripo i believe in 95 are electronic controlled. They quit with the cable in the early 90s on the mustangs. I think.

Thanks for the help It has the old style dash appears to be gear? I will check tranny first though. also have to figure out how to take center dash/counsole by radio apart there seems to be a fixed mounted cell phone bracket with mounting in dash?
