Default Gas Mileage and MODS?

I bought a 95 mustang 3.8 vert for commuting to work etc and am getting outstanding gas mileage. If I do a CAI and under pulley with
new exhaust looking at new cats, H pipe and flowmasters any recomendations?
Will I see a big decrease in mileage I drive conservitvely but would like to wake the motor up? stang is also a automatic.
Thanks
Carl

cats h-pipe and flowmaster are suppose to add gas mileage..... but what happened to my bro is hes more of a lead foot so he can hear his v8 roar...but with his set-up for some reason he gets better gas mileage then my v6...i don't think u need to worry about a decrease in mileage...if there is any at all it wont b a lot

Great thread!.. I'm looking for the same answer, so I'll be in touch but from what I know... it's actually not that much of a MPG decrease and I got friends running S/C's and bigger toys. They all agree in one thing, it may increase the fuel consumption a bit, but it is totally worth it!

If your wallet lets you, try a performance chip with custom tunes.
SCT Mustang Performance Chips at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!
It will help you get the most out of your mods, your car and MPG.
I'm thinking about getting one myself but I need a CAI, and a new set of tires. First things first, gotta set priorities right.

Question

Best I can figure is I am getting almost 30 mpg. The odometer broke just after I purchased her and I just came back in from taking care of the fix. Will I need a Tune after doing exhaust work?
and will all my sensors for cai and exhaust be plug and play ?
Thanks
Carl

Have you tried different settings and custom tunes? I think you probably don't care much about MPGs since you probably get a kick off the starting grid with that MUSTANG. lol. But that's really interesting, they claim to increase MPG consumption, but I think that comes at the expense of less HP or acceleration. No clue, to be honest. When I put one in my MUSTANG I will tell you.

I think you really don't need a performance chip to install a CAI, they are pretty simple to install but you gotta respect all the sensors, hoses and cables and be really careful pulling out the intake mass airflow sensor. It's really all you have to do. I love these guys at AmericanMuscle.com
Ford Mustang Cold Air Intake - Video Installation Instructions at AmericanMuscle.com
Check it out... I definitely recommend it, and don't worry... I'm not getting any money for it or affiliated to them in any way. They are just awesome!

Well MPG was the easy justification with the MRS also it does help when considering 15 in town and 20 hwy with my silverado 80 mile round trip commute to work and one day a week add another 110 to it. reason for stang (These V6ers are a great seceret) I just have to wake her up a little. Now IM off to get alignment checked.
Thanks again everyone
Carl

I'm running divorced Flowmasters w/stock headers and cats, CAI, and an SCT custom tune.
With the stock tune I got 23mpg combined city/highway.
The best mileage I've gotten is 30mpg highway with the stock tune (70mph cruise control with the AC on).
The 91+ Performance tune was getting me 20mpg combined driving.
I ran my 87+ performance tune and I got 14mpg in town
I switched to my 87+ economy tune now. We'll see about that.
You'll be okay.
