Use a volt meter to test the volts when the car is running. It should read over 12 volts, maybe around 13-14 volts at the battery.

Check your connections running from the battery terminals to the side of the power distribution box. Mine were a little loose and getting corroded and my car would do the same thing. Turn the key and nothing. I would have to pop the hood and wiggle it around until I heard the door chime then run and try and start my car while it was connected decently.

Hey ya'll, last thursday, it happened again!!!! My car was off and couldn't turn on! No clicking or the electrical didn't power on! Just bought the battery the first time, installed it and worked fine. It was fine for a few days until thursday! I had cleaned the terminal ends for any corrosion but it was fine... but, I noticed that single strand of wire from the negative wire bundle was sticking out (like a single loose hair on a ponytail bundle). I then wedged that strand into the bundle and the car turned on fine!! Now this may be a dumb question, but, Does EVERY single strand of wire need to be in contact in order for the car to turn on? It should already have contact for it's already in a bundle, right? just curious....

No all the wires do not have to be in contact. It sounds as if the conection is not great. While you were wiedged that stray wire in you also wiggled the conection on the bat. termanal. I would have your bat. checked again along with the alt. change the bat. termanal conectors and the bat. wires. If there was any corrsoion at one time or another it could have crept up the bat. wires inside the insilation and ate through some wires in the strand. If you want to check the wire before replacing them cut some of the insulation back and take a look at the strand. if any discoloring of the wire beyond an inch of unexposed wire best to replace it. if no corrosion on the wires just use some electrical tape to cover the wire were you removed the insulation.

Just an update, my terminals are brushed cleaned and that strand of wire is securely in contact (just in case)! So far, so good... nothing has happened yet .... knock on wood! Hopefully this solved the problem...

check your larger fuse's. my car died on me one afternoon. battery was fine, cables were fine. ended up spending over a 100$ only to find out it was a 3 dollar fuse that burnt out.

Definately sounds like your alternator! If your reasonably mechanically inclined, remove the alternator and take it to your local parts store, most of them can test it for you.
