ok i just bought an mgw short shifter off a guy and it seriously feels like the same throw i used to have on my factory shifter. any way of changing this? i was looking for a super short shift but didnt want to spend a fortune on getting it. its a 99 v6 mustang by the way and the short shift is used.
Did you adjust the stops to the shortest possible shifts? There is no way a short throw shifter should feel anything like a stock shifter from my experience (2 Hursts, 1 Steeda). The short throws feel like they are on rails.

really?
MGW is the most expensive short throw for a stang that i've seen.
i know my tri-ax has a handle that is adjustable in length, does the MGW have an adjustable handle, and if it does, shorten it all the way. it'll feel much better.
also, dont mess with the shifter stops once you've got them set. it should engage fully in each gear, and no more.
my factory shifter felt like a limp noodle compared to my tri-ax.
oh and i have a friend with a 93 5.0 notchback who has an MGW shifter in his car; i've driven it a few times and that shifter i have to say is awesome...if you're not loving it, something is a miss.
That doesn't look like an MGW to me. It looks almost like the stock one I pulled out my car a few months ago. I swapped to a Hurst.
This is an MGW shifter: Mustang Short Throw Shifter

dude not to be a jerk, but you really can't expect much for $2.25
and, i agree with redlyr, i highly doubt that is an MGW, if it were it'd be orange & black. if memory serves me right, i believe that is the stock shifter.
