Default I have a 1997 mustang and im trying to make it louder. Help or advice would be great.

I have a 1997 Mustang with a 3.8 v6 engine in it. It is too quiet for my liking and I was wondering if there was a cheap and easy way to make it louder. I'm a freshman in college, so I really don' have the money to anything real costly. Any help pr advice would be great.

I also don't want it to be to loud because I am in the city a lot. Is there something that I could put on the straight pipes that would still make it loud, but not to loud that I would get pulled over for.

Well if you dont want it TOO loud you could get the 40 series flowmasters. I have straight pipes on my 02 gt. True duals with a v8.. as you can imagine its real loud. I dont have a noise ordinance where i live so its no big deal. And i love the way it sounds.

What about putting resonators on the straight pipes. would that "dappen" the sound down.

Yea you could do that. That would probaby be the cheapest way to go i guess. You dont have duals do you?

No, right now I have just a single, but i have been thinking about putting dual straight pipes on. I already have two catalic converters so all I will need to do is put an x-pipe on it.

Well that would be sweet. You could do the resonater or convert to duals then do it. That would probably be your best bet. How much are you looking to spend?

Right now, what money that I have is going towards my tuition and gas. I was thinking about putting the duals on when I go and have my muffler redone, but I am not sure how much it is going to cost to have the duals and resonators put on. If it is to much, I might just have a single straight pipe put on with the resonator

Ya I can probably do it myself, but I am trying to do this without spending a lot of money. I would like to keep it under $50.

How much would it cost to have just a single straight put on with a cheap resonator on it. I have found a cheap resonator that i can install myself for about $25
