Default 1998 3.8L Mustang: Upgrades, Bolt-on's, Modifications, Etc. Questions&Comments

Ok so I just bought my 3.8L pony... and he's about to hit puberty... meaning we're gonna go inside and gut him and fix him... we can rebuild him... we can make him stronger... faster... we have the technology...

So first thing's first: Does ANYONE have any idea what the best turbo set up for a v6 is? I've found almost everything I need to turn this wanna-be racecar into the legit real-deal except for that... I'm not gonna add a supercharger so there's no point in doing the whole pro's-con's thing.

Also, as far as tuning and working with the stock computer is concerned does anyone have any experience with this? I plan on piggybacking my way through the tune, but are there any certain platforms that help avoid the Check Engine Light problems most cars have?

Thanks ahead of time for any helpful advice

Oh and don't suggest tma... I'm pretty sure I can't get a turbo from him anymore... tried emailing... nothing... so looking at "d'agostinoracing.com" now... not sure if it's legit but they claim 800hp twin-turbo kit... don't know if it can be set up for a v6 though... I'm sure a built supersix can hold that much but will the air delivery be enough? anyone?

800 wheel horsepower sounds like kind of an exaggeration.. its almost definitely not gonna be that high for a v6.. 2 of the fastest v6 mustangs around are run by shinerstang and shine1stang.. (father and son) both 10 second cars.. so you can definitely get that v6 moving pretty good

well 800 is what's advertised for that specific twin-turbo kit... they also claim to be able to get 1000, 1200 and 1600hp out of their larger twin turbo kits... granted that's all meant for a V8 motor and not my little 3.8L but my goal is 550rwhp so if it comes even CLOSE to what's advertised I'm sure I'll be happy

and I'm well aware of the potential in these little motors... I did my homework and am looking into a supersix built motor also... this car's gonna be my pet-project over the course of the next 18 months or so

so much to do... so little time

it supports up to 1600 with the right parts...however 800 hp on a 6er, gonna be tough an cost alot more, rear ends transmissions suspention, etc etc etc

ya well like I said I'm goin for 550rwhp as my end result, but transmission, clutch, flywheel, suspension, built engine, headers, x-pipe, catless exhaust, fuel pump, injectors, computer, underdrive pullys, gears, hell anything and everything is gonna get done to this car, all the way down to a custom interior and paint job...

the cost isn't really a concern... granted I'm not MADE of money, but I'm a single guy with my car and house paid off... only bill I have is my cell phone, utilities, and food... everything else, goes into making my little v6 a MONSTER!

this car is going to be in magazines when I'm done! well not really... I won't keep it clean enough to be in magazines... but people will talk about it

I'd just like to know who all has done similar things or plans on it, and what they're experiences have been like... I know the shinerstangs have gotten into that range... anyone else?

first car... that's awesome! do you have any mods on it yet? before you get the exhaust I'd get a Cold Air Intake... 10-15hp immediately... and it's so easy to instal you can do it yourself
