i need to diagnose the problem with my mustang

i was driving and went to down shift and i heard a pop and it was dificult to get into 2nd gear. after about 5 seconds of it being in gear it popped back out and now it wont go in at all. what could this be? ive heard its my cable, my throwout bearing, seizing differential, and hydrolic something.. please help me figure out what it is. it feels more like the cable but there is still a tiny bit of pressure when i push the clutch in.

does your clutch still put up resistance when you press the pedal?

can you put the stickshift into gear easily but nothing happens when you engage the clutch???

need more info to help
