1994 mustang transmission problem/?

i have a 1994 mustang with a 3.8liter 5 speed and im wondering if a 5 speed from a 1990 mustang will be compatible. please can anyone help me

um... are you asking about the shift-stick/gear-selector or the transmission itself???

They are not compatable.

The tranny's are pretty much the same as far as case, gear set, etc.

But the input shaft on the 94-up T5's are longer then the fox input shafts, because of this, the bellhousings are longer on the 94-up then the fox.

thanks to everyone who replied to my post it was very helpful. does anyone know why i cant not put my transmission into reverse it will go into reverse and back up a hair then it bangs real hard and stops moving any ideas.
