so i have decided that i wanted to somewhat murder my mustang out with an exception of the paint. i allready have tint adn im getting a black out pannel for the back and black tail light adn head lights. the only thing left is the rims. i was going to go totally black! i think if done right it would look good but does anyone know?? her is a pic of my car. not exactly but i have teh same color and rims. let me know any opinions!!
plesase post a link to ur car or rims that may be similar to mine!
Would look nice but make sure you do it correctly. My brother has an 05 SRT4 that he sprayed the stock wheels gold.. turned out immaculate but after one winter they chipped and look sloppy.
I have a Mineral Gray mustang myself, and I'm going to paint my wheels as well. My color is pretty close to your's, but if you want to see what it looks like go to American Muscle and look at the customer ride pics. I think some of the 2002 stangs there have black rims with the same, or similar, body paint color as your own.
My opinion, definitely do it. Straight up black rims make a dramatic difference in the looks of your car. I'm not sure how well it would go with your rear bumper inserts, but again it's hard to judge through a photo.

thanks i will go look now. i was going to leave a silver lip on the rim but i think im going to go all black! and thats not my car its just a pic of one like mine. i dont have silver bumper inserts i have black!
In my opinion stock rims in full black wouldnt look that good, maybe you should leave a lip to it just so the tires and wheels have some visual separation. Another option I saw on a show was to pinstripe the border of the rim to break up the wheel and tire. My 40th anniversary rims have the "inserts" of the wheels painted arizona beige stock and it looks pretty cool, maybe you paint that part black rather than the full wheel.
The chrome highlight on the outer edge really sets the whole thing off, and I would say is a must if you're going to paint the stock rims. Well, not chrome because the stock rims aren't chrome, but you know what I mean.
I can't see 236's pics above cuz I'm at work, but I'll check them out when I get home. I hope it looks great, cuz if it doesn't it might change my mind about painting.
