Id say go gt. You'll have to put a lot more money into a 6 and will only barely be able to get past a stock gt. ie-I've seen a v6 running 14lbs of boost on a pro charger putting down 250 rwhp...a stock gt (99-04) puts out about 230-235 to the wheels stock. So you see what im saying.

Yes, and I've seen one putting down almost 500rwhp at the same boost. It is all about getting the most out of your motor efficiently......
to be unique go with the V6. Keep insurance low and still have fun. The V8 will be much more powerful, but you sacrifice insurance money and gas money (if its your daily driver)
I decided to keep the V6 and do either a twin turbo or a Super. Since you already have the chasis just makes the best of what you have.
But it is really up to you

When you own a V6 stang 3.8, 3.9, or 4.2 stroker, You're part of something different. You don't rely on a V8 to do your driving. Instead you learn the V6. You tune and tweak until you see GT's falling behind you. Then when they ask "Is that a V8?" You simply respond with a rev that clearly states "I'm a V6" with a proud smile on your face. As your girlfriend sitting on the seat next to you calls you an idiot.
its up to you! Yes i could have saved a bunch of money if i just got a v8 and turboed that. but you know i like being different and consistantly beating the arrogant v8 guys at the track

its much more rewarding beating a v8 with a "little" v6.

THAT IS EXACTLY HOW I FEEL!!
and i wouldnt s/c your 6. a t74 would do very nicely plus your car will be much more efficent, not much but it wont hurt it.
and like the guy i quoted. while buying a gt will be the cheaper thing to do having a quick six capable of 500hp is just sick. and you WILL get alot more props for the quick6 instead of the blown gt. mainly cause no one has it.
keep the 6 guy and do some damage with it.

damn right !
i was at the track a few weeks ago (minus my bottle) and raced this 96-98 GT, (stock, mild exhaust, had "BOSS" written all over the car from bumper to bumper) and we raced 3 times, and i beat him twice. afterwards i saw him cooling his car down so i went over and we chatted for a bit, he was in a pretty good mood. turns out, he was in a good mood because he beat what he thought was a stock 99-04 GT. when i told him mine was a 6-shooter, you should've seen how quickly that smile left his face !!! omfg PRICELESS!

This made me smile. I had someone ask me how what all I'd done to my GT, when I told em it was a sixxer their face was priceless, So I poped the hood and showed em. I love my six and probably wouldn't sell it for anything less then a Mach or 99+ Cobra. . . . .Maybe a 3v but they are still too expensive and I'm not crazy about that body style.
