Someone around my area is selling this on craigslist. "4.6L pi swap for sale...came off 99 mustang gt.... heads(assembled) , cams, intake w/aluminum crossover" now what i would liKe to Know is. will it fit my 2000 v6 mustang, what is it (im still learning sorry) and is it worth 400$??
yes a gt engine will fit in your v6 but you will need to upgrade the suspension, tranny, rear end, motor mounts to handle the extra power and weight. it seems that the person is selling cylinder heads, cam shafts and intake manifold all of which are useless unless you have a gt engine block and internals.

yeah, they'll fit, if you dont mind them hanging off the back of your engine.
lol j/k...
what that is, is basically the heads, cams, and intake manifold off of a 99-04 (P.I. 'performance improved') GT. 99-04 PI GT's make about 40 more hp than non PI GT's (96-98). all those parts are for SOHC V8 engines. so, no, you can't install those parts onto your V6.
wait OK u have 6 cylinder 3.8 right?? he is selling heads of a 8 cylinder 4.6 right?? if so NO it wont fit u have 2 less cylinders, a PI swap is performance improved swap which on the 96-98 mustang gt's had kinda crappy heads they didn't flow worth crap so the ported the heads and i believe they have bedder cams and went from distributor to coil pack 400$ is a OK deal but if u get the block as well then Ur in a new world u have electrical, transmission, rear end, really if Ur gonna put a 8cylinder in a 6 body make it a track car and carb it it will b cheaper in the long run to get a gt and sell Ur 3.8.. DO NOT BuY THE KIT

Reason: didnt finish
well honestly i love my car and i want to Keep it and yea hes selling the blocK with all the heads and everything for 400$...he said that the blocK needs to be rebuilt...so if i get the blocK will it fit? and yea i have a 3.8...but i want to Keep my car that i have now. so should i just get new heads, some cams and other stuff for my car? or should i invest in this?
You would need almost an entire parts car for all the other parts required to install a 4.6L V8 into a V6 car. Not worth it, especially if you can't do all the work yourself.
If you want a V8 time to sell the V6 and buy a V8 factory equipped car.
true i am just finishing up my v6 to v8 swap on my 94 the said to be easier swap and its very involved it can be done but you got to way your options if its your dd like mine was its not worth it and as said easier carb is the easiest way then you dont have to play games with the computer
Swapping a v8 into a v6 is almost never worth it. The only time it is remotely worth the effort is if you are swapping in a 5.0 into a 94-95 or a 4v Mach1/Cobra engine into a 96-04.
