Yep, pretty hard to mess that up.
The video I saw the
stang driver didn't seem like he was pushing his car that hard immediately off the line, and he was just barely being edged out by the Si. After about 2nd gear or so the Si started to pull ahead by a pretty wide margin.
I'm not too familiar with the engineering in the car itself, but being a four banger, if it was going to pull ahead that hard it should have done it off the line, not well into the drag. I wasn't in the driver's seat, so I don't know why it happened but a bigger engine should win in the long run if it can at least keep up off the line - from what I know. Perhaps the driver in the Mustang started to let off when he realized he was falling behind.
