It's a very good intake and combustion chamber cleaner. Great at reducing carbon deposits.

there's no harm in doing this on a high mileage engine. in fact, all the more reason.

OP:
if you dont have a vacuum applicator, just be careful you don't suck the fluid in too quickly, or you will hydrolock the engine. not good.

usually a vacuum hose that will suck it into the intake. It makes an awesome smoke show. I heard if you put it in your oil, you barely drive it and then change the oil.
Did this to my 4Runner. i'm surprised no one thought it was on fire with all the smoke.

the brake booster hose draws vacuum from the upper intake manifold, yes.

no.
you only have to change your oil afterwards if you put it in your oil.
and if you do, dont drive more than 30-50 miles with that stuff in there. seafoam is basically just soap.

the dealership i work at used to recommend oil flushes (adding seafoam to the crankcase, running the engine for 20 minutes, then changing the oil&filter) every 15k. about 5 months ago, the manafacturer (hyundai) issued a TSB banning all the dealerships from doing this. they said it caused premature engine wear, and they dont like replacing engines because hyundai's powertrain warranty is 10/100.

needless to say i'm a little skeptical of adding this stuff to the crankcase.
