I've had a few people lately... is that a cobra? strangers! hanging around my car. "..." it's... a V6... with some snakes stuck on the side " (I like the attention anyway, even though it's **** huh)..

So after looking up some cobra vids on you tube and hearing that sweet sound... I thought I'd give it and see how fast I can get to 60, I counted, and it takes me under 3 seconds to get up there.

My mustang has got cobra steering wheel, cobra seats, and has had a lot done to it I think, but exactly what I'm not sure of. I know it's definitely got a CAI, lowered, x pipe (Dual exhaust that sounds very nice)..

Anyway, is 3 seconds fast? I believe it's pretty much 60 in 1st I think? but don't hold me to that I think I might be slipping it in second I'll mess around again tomorrow to find out.

Ps: I'm all gloating at 3 seconds if that is crappy! I'm just curious please also forgive the lack of knowledge about these things. I'd like to find a quarter mile I think there is a local track 15 minutes away!

0-60 in 3 seconds with a V6 is completely unheard of. I would have that time actually clocked at the track if it is only 15 minutes away. The 2008 GT500 only ran a tested 4.6 sec 0-60 from the factory.

No production car in the history of the world does 0-60mph in 3 seconds, the legendary 427 AC Cobra was reputed to go 0-100 and back to 0 in 10 seconds!

C'mon. The soon to be introduced Lexus LFA (500+ HP) will do 0-60 in 3.6. It'll set you back about 200 grand. That's one miracle V6 Pony you got there if it's faster than that... I see a NASCAR contract in your future...

I can see 3 seconds being possible for a Saleen S7 twin turbo, but I've never heard of anything like that for a v6. If there is a 3 second 0-60 v6 mustang out there, I guarantee you it has a lot more done to it than a cai, x-pipe, and being lowered. Your stang may be quick, but you need something more accurate to calculate the time with than simply counting it in your head.

ok i'm back. I went out, and got to 60 in 3 seconds!

I got to 60 mph in about 7 seconds, just gunning it in first and up into second for a bit.

I love my sixxer a lot, but there is no way I'm gonna go declare that my little V6 Pony car runs 0-60 in 3 seconds flat.

Well that's great that you wouldn't declare it, pat on the back, good for you. Mother will be proud. Seriously though, 60kmh, I've got a US car in Canada so the small kmh numbers are what I go by here in town not MPH like I'm used to in England, so anyway clearly screwed up. 0-60kmh in 3 secs isn't something I should be proud of no doubt!

Thanks for the times. I'm going to look up mustang / cobra times now.
