Hey everyone. i have a custom orH-pipe with straight pipes(no mufflers), and no cats...it maKes my v6 REALLY loud and at idle it actually sounds liKe a gt and when im driving it sounds pretty good too. but my question is that when i race it maKes a real BAD raspy sound and sounds liKe a ricer and i dont want that but what im wondering is if i put some mufflers on will it get rid of that NASTY raspy sound ??? or do i 100% HAVE TO get a cam...suggestions will be appreciated. thanK you

i got a JLT CAI and tune, about 60% of it went away
then i got a h pipe and more went away, now it barely pops, due to my blown cat, im a firm beliver of cats staying on the 6er.


but hte CAI took alot out

Maybe some flowmaster mufflers would help. Will add a little backpressure too and thus help with torque.

Straight pipes on a v6 is a .... Sounds like chyt!

If you have a 94-04 get a set of flow 40s.

hey could you post a sound clip because i was thinking about doing what you did on your car and doing that to mine so i want to hear what it sounds like

Here is a clip stang man. i got the idea from this video and it sounds EXACTLY liKe mine. but you should probably go with some slp loudmouths or one of those straight mufflers and a CAI to stop the raspiness. well here you go

oh and this is NOT my stang by the way. my stang is sexier but he stopped right before the raspiness started. and what 05horse said if you have a cai then it does actually taKe out alot of the raspiness
