Ahhh, the old Nascar 4.5 block. We don't count them because they were not a production block, but they were basa$$. They were the only ones with 4-bolt main caps in the middle. The end caps were still 2-bolt.
They were capable of 1100+hp with a power adder. You can buy one for only 15k that puts out 500hp N/A. Good luck if you break it though, parts are almost extinct. Nevermind finding an extra block, heads, rods, etc......
Way back when, you could pick up a magazine and order just about anything for them.....

Unless you know the car, how are you able to determine what block it had in it? Your motors are still 2 bolt mains?

Actually dad, if you listen closely that sounds like a buick gn motor. Im almost positive it is. Obviously with a bigger turbo and such. But ive seen some bada$$ buick motors over on turbobuick.com
Either way just sick for a 6

Good question. The wheelie bars, 2 step, and sound of the motor gave it away. There are only 2 of us running 2 steps.....
Yep, we still have 2-bolt mains. Phil and Tom Y are working on 4-bolt center mains like the Nascar blocks, but the work is tedious, and they are both going about it in different ways. One is splayed, and the other I can't tell you about, yet. We will see when the projects are done. I have a main girdle, and Tom Jr just has a windage tray......
That could be a Buick motor, but it sounds different......
I see Chevy motors in mustangs a lot now but never heard or thought of a GN motor in there.
What kind of revs these motors spinning, gotta be higher than a small block.

What kind of revs are the 3.8L spinning or the 4.5?
Well both. I'm sure the 3.8 would be a little higher.. 8-9k rpm's
Well to tell you the truth, i only turn mine to 6k max. I usually shift around 5800.
I see you are starting to spend some more time over here reese! HAHA
We could hook u up if you wanted!

Just doing some exploring! I do have a facination with small cubes putting out big HP.
I'm still seeing what I can get out of the BB without breaking the bank. I want to get into the 9's on just motor then either step it up from there or start a new project and V6's is what I'm leaning toward too like Reg.
Believe me that If I do go to V6 project you guys would be the first phone call I made.

To Tell Yall The Truth To me It Doesnt sound remotly Like A GM Motor To Me, I Am going With A 3.8, Theres A Guy In This Months Modified Mustangs Mag With A 3.8 Looks Bone Stock And he Drives it On The Street...And its running 9s., The Fox Chasis Cars Did Come With A 3.8 In Certain Years But It is Harder To Find Than A Four Or 5.0....Ive Seen A Four banger ecotec With 1100hp So Why Not A 3.8?

1100hp 2.3 look up Jason Huber, he can get about 2-300 feet on the rear bumper with that motor. Low 9 sec car.

We know the Huber's very well. He was very impressed with my car at the NMRA's. We stood and talked for about an hour about my car. He couldn't get over what we've accomplished with it with the stock block, computer, and wiring. He also gave us a few pointers on where to go next......
We do a ton of networking with all our buddies across the US.....

I think my turbo car pulled the most out of rpm's. I used to shift at 6,800. My dyno pulls went to 6,850 and was still making power. It had a special valvetrain to handle the rpm's.....
The 4.5's would turn 8,500 religiously for hours to handle the stress of Nascar racing.....
