Hey ya'll, this might be a stupid/ corny question but, noticed that there is no thread for this question. What CAN or CAN'T you do with a SCT tuner? Example, is it possible that you can you check trouble codes when your check engine light goes on instead of going to autozone to check the CEL code? or, Are there any tweeks that can be done to improve performance to one's car with out compromising one's car? I have read somewhere that you shouldn't mess with it and just use the costume tunes that was supplied with it, but for the curious, i figure to post this up......

Lots of things. I know you can't use it to tune a piano or a guitar.

I am curious myself. On AM u can get handheld custom tuners. IT says it comes with tunes. Does that mean it has them already on it or do u have to download something onto it? also if u get one can u just plug it into the cars computer and choose the tune u want and it will just flash the computer and u are on ur way?

That is what you do. Plug and play. You can read DTC's, clear them, and change gear ratios and tire roll out(if you go with a taller tire) in a 99+ Mustang. The 94-98's are still mechanical gears, so you would order a plastic gear to match your rear end ratio ......

Maybe tuna fish
