Everyone who is crying about the 4.0 V6, listen up!
I'm seeing a lot of people whining and moaning over the fact that the 4.0 only has 200hp. Quit yo whining!!!! It is a one year wonder! In 06, there will be a 250 hp 3.5 DOHC V6. If you don't like the 4.0, then wait a year and buy the 3.5.

Idunno about 250 hp, the reason its 200 is so the Gt's were whining they didnt want to have anything close the the v6.
the v6 was basically made for the guy who didnt want the GT but wanted the mustang body and name. Thats about it.
the Gt is the car they want people to have. I mean no one saying it but thats the truth, the v6 is the poor mans mustang. though people claim we wanted the six because we wanted to work with the six, blah blah yes that's true some people are like that. But just look at the v6 is stripped, not even fog lights or spoiler. no Trak lok, small cheap Rims, it's just a car to have as a mustang, it's the cool car, the GT is the powerhouse, and yes there are 6's out there that rip stock Gts, but with lots of modifications. either way, they're still both fun cars thats why i think they keep it at 200 the only reason why i see why they woulkd mov it to 250 is because of competing companies that have normal sedans with liek stock 260 lol oh well

The 4.0 has only 200 hp because it is a truck engine designed to produce low end torque. They pulled it right out of the Ranger/Explorer lineup and threw it in the Mustang. Ford decided not to change the engine any to cut costs. The low hp has nothing to do with GT owners not wanting V6 owners to come close to them in hp. If you don't believe me about the 250 hp, go to the AFM's home page and read the artilcle on it.

it just for the record, I like the switch over to the 4.0 I really could care less. does it have mnore power, can it make more power, well **** throw it in there lol more fun more to work with. bigger engine, cool!
When did 200hp become NOTHING? That is still enough to spin the tires.
Now, I could never see myself in a V6, but like it was said, it's built for those who want a mustang on a honda budget, and thank goodness it's availible for them. Plus, insurance wise, I assume it's much less the the almost 200 per month for a 5.0 vert.

IF they do go to the smaller engine, which I doubt they do, they won't make it so close to the GT. The GT is their flagship, they'd never let the V6 get close to that. last I heard IF they did go with the smaller v6 it would only be 220hp.
besides that the 4.0L is better IMO. There is no replacement for displacement.

220 and 200 is a low number for a v6. nissan and bmw have less than 3.0 on their v6's and they turn out 260ho easily. but at the same time, look at the price differences between a V6 and a GT. I've spent probably 3-4k on mods and I will outhandle any stock GT thats a 96-98. And I would also give it a damn good run in the 1/4. I love my car considering the 9-10k i've paid on it total right now.
