Default Lost Faith.

Well My new engine is less than a week old and already have a CEL on.
I have not gone faster than 40 mph with this engine or above 3000 rpms.

so the fact that this cel is on... is ford's own fault.

I can't stand it anymore. this car cannot go a week and the longest run it's had without a problem must be only a month at the longest. I can't take ti anymore.... I don't even want to fix it. I want to sell it, and never drive this ever again. I just don't have the money to do it. I didn't think when i bought I would be going through engines weekly. I have a job I need to get to, and with the car in the shop 4 our of 7 days a week, it's not helping me. Will I go back to Ford Mustang? Maybe. but with the repuation of this car I Don't know.

I dunno, I guess Im really pissed about it. I'm going to save up 3 k and have every problem fixed on that car, every rattle and every squeak, every crack or chip. Sell it , and go on with my life.

hopefull the new mustang is something worth looking at.

that sucks man, both of my mustangs ive never had a problem with, or at least one that wasnt a ususal problem and could be fixed easily. but if those kind of things happened to me, i would be pretty pissed too. Maybe you can find a nice camaro or something, or a newer 99+ v6. my 2000 is fun and rides much nicer than my 98. goes faster too It really does seem like ford just throws v6's together without too much time and effort sometimes. kinda like they only care about you if you spend more than 20 grand on a car they make. ive thought about switching to chevys or dodges all the time. But until something goes horribly wrong in fords error on my car, ill stick with em.

I feel your pain. I hydro locked the first engie because of a head gasket at 100,002 miles and Ford told me to take a flying leap, so I purchased a new engine and the head gaskets lasted a whole whapping 40,000 before going out, yea its the engine on the 94-95's that are alot of crap. ford could have done alot better to make right on these cars but then again its Ford and they are all about making money not helping the consumer. dont get me wrong its not the mcanics fault that the dealerships dont want to fix a headache car they just want them to go away. hell my air bag deployed and broke my freinds nose at a stop light and I wasnt even hit just came to a stop. yea after getting a attorny and threatining with a law suit they paid his med bills gave him 5k in pain and suffering and replaced the passanger side airbag. some times its just not worth it. good luck with what ever you decide to purchase.

PS this new Jetta I got for the Wife Flat rocked the stang in a drag.

My brother convinced me to keep it, fix it up some more, and not to sell it. I still feel liek I have to sell it anyways, college is coming up and have no use for a car for2 years. though I am also thinking.

This summer, fix the dash, and get the one side repained so all dents will be gone and before i go to school I will have the car buffed to a nice nice shine and put it under a tarp and say good bye for 2 years.

also thinking of t lock with 3.27 or 3.73 gears.

But I don't want to keep adding years on a car that doesnt move fast at all and going on 11 years. I dunno maybe I 'll keep it for 20 more years and it will become a classic

I don’t know a single type of car that someone has not had some major problems with them. Same with TV’s, stereos, computers, and everything else that is made in numbers.

I truly feel your pain and frustration, trust me…. I do. But please don’t let that influence you about an entire line of vehicles, or even brand.

Hang in there and good luck.

I went through some of the same **** with my 96 GT. Something new was breaking every week and I sold it after 9 months of ownership. Some cars are just junk heaps and some aren't.

yeah I really think my car is just a lemmon, I mean i love mustangs, I even remember saying in 6th grade my car will be a mustang. This car must be a lemmon,

but could this problem be sensors? I dunno...

I guess my car is just being hit with the normal wear and tear...

Le's see, bushings and tie rods. the cheick engine light, the short in the clock, the lights in the doors don't work.... and that weird sound from the rear end when I make left turns... Just too many currently. and my rotors are becomeing warped again. I can feel when i stop and my car wheels back and forth a bit. Hate that.

Well I have all summer to fix, but I might need some help.

with those 3 grand i'll sell you mine

anyway the problem could be a simple sensor. i took mine twice to autozone when the light came on and all it was, was a sensor.

Maybe it's time to let that wounded horse go. I'm sure you can sell your car now and get a great deal on the 04 when the 05 comes out this fall. I feel really bad for ya. Makes me feel glad that mine has been as sweet as the day it roll off the lot. Well good luck on which decision you do decide on.

well i have a guy who does wonders with Car ECUs... I guess I'm gonna tap two and throw him into play. If He can find the problem there, then that would solve a lot of problems, the shorts, the engines going because the ECU could be telling it the wrong fuel and air ration and destroying my engine. SO if the ECU is shot that will solve a lot of my problems. So we'll see how that goes. The Tie rods Im going to temp. fix tomorrow. and i know it's time this car has to go. But I want to get the new dashboard on, and those dents fixed, and with the car working good, regrind the rotors, sounds good no sounds no problems I'll sell it in august and hopefully I'll recieve 5-7 k. ;| And put some money down on a 2005.

It's a LEMON!

Or so it seems..

Keep it though I would say. Eventually you will have it running the way it should ;-) .

Also the memories right?

yea definately sell it, theres always something cool about saving up for a car and getting to pick out a new one. i would suggest a 99+ model . I had a 98 that i loved, but i totalled it (not my fault though). and i was skeptical when i was looking at the new models. But you can definately feel an increase in Hp (which is cool) and its rides better and i think it looks cooler. Maybe you dont have the same tastes as me. but the HP increase is always a nice extra when considering the car

PS oh and my new ones also red, which is nice. old one was green

Dude! I've haven't seen this kind of breakage in a loooong time. Who's your mechanic?

Was your car ever in a flood?

My sister's car had similar issues, and it was in a flood in North Carolina (I told her not to buy the car when I saw water damage waist high on the door panels).

That's why I think it's the computer, I dunno Guys. I love mustang so much i don't really want to get rid of it. Like I could never see me behind the wheel of a corolla or I dunno civic, something stupid like that. I want to have a mustang, keep my mustang. *sigh* I need money. I want to save up a bit, and buy a new ECU.

so major probs, the ECU and Tie Rodss.

Personally I think this car prolly has 150k+ miles on the body. and had the miles rolled back to 87 when I bought it.
