I'd be in court once a month! JUST ENJOY YOUR STANG FRIEND, how often are going 100 mph anyway?

1994-1998 = 150 HP
1999-like 2001 or something = 190 HP
2001 or something - now = 193 HP

I don't have much trouble getting up to 111 in my car, I've only done it a few times. The only mod I have is a cold air intake. A 60 dollar cold air intake will give you another 9 horses. Next I'm going to get a throttle body spacer from www.rpmoutlet.com for 90 that's another 10 hp. Then I'm going to set myself up with pulles and a diablo tuner which will give me another 30. I might be talkin 140 or so horses by the time I'm done after spending $600 bucks. After that I can't wait to get out on the road with the speed limiter raised . Hehehe

I about 3 days I will be the owner of a 40th Annerversery ragtop automatic with a 3.8 or the 3.9. My dealer is searching the country(Calif. Smog Regs). In the middle of 04 the crank got changed as we know. Please explain the cold air intake, Throttle body spacer and a Diablo tuner. is this smog legal. This V6 is going to be a mystery to me. Please tell me anything legal in California. Please, please, please. My 69 351 Windsor I understand. Bear with me I will be asking lots of guestiions.
I am thanking you all now because I know I will forget and not say it enough in the future. Jess

Ahhhh, it doesn't work that way . . . You can't just add up the numbers, as it's part of a system.

The only way you're going to get any hp from that spacer, is if it's a pretty da^n hot day, and it's a phenolic spacer.

THe Diablo chip will get you around 15-19 horses, more if you've got other modifications. but by itself, there's no way.

a Cold Air functions like the larger air filters used on your 69. It comes already with a cold air system, but the DeMolet and K&N systems free up restrictions, and thermally protects the air, keeping it denser for more power.

the Throttle body spacer serves two functions,

1) giving a more direct shot through the throttle body (sorta' like Carb spacers). Motorvator sez, the machined screw in the spacer allows more spin in the flow, but looking at the design on the intake for 99+ cars, I don't see how it would affect much of anything,

2) isloates the CAI from engine heat.

the Diablo chips reprogram the computers for a number of different modifications, ranging from switching to Premium or higher octane fuel (by advanciung the timing curve, to extending the redline, and removing the speed governor.
