true. very true.

My sister now has an 01, (used to have a 95 GT) and couldn't believe the difference.

Sorry guys, Thanks for your interest in this thread! I got totally side tracked in the Community Forum! DANG!
Hm, why does the GT have a rear sway bar and the V6 not! I'm feeling jipped man! Why did you switch from the stock sway bar and will my warranty be affected if I install one on my V6?

Ford got cheap and quit putting rear sway bars on the 6 in either 97 or 98. It won't void your warranty.

The only way it will affect your warranty is if they can show it contributed to a failure of a warranteed part. Since it's an OEM part, there's NO WAY it will void your warranty.

Similarly, a K&N filter can interfere with your MAF, so they'll charge you for cleaning it. But you can clean it with the same electric part cleaner they use.

Thanks KS!
That's good to know. Have I said how much I love AFM lately?
I really need to get up to speed on ALL the acronyms though.
I need a list with definitions. I'll probably start compiling one slowly.....

Ive done this mrmustang1!
Tell me if this has ever happened to you or not, or anyone else for that matter.
I test drove a GT before I bought the V6. I drove both of them fairly rigorously but not even CLOSE to how I drive when by myself. I'm in the GT.....MANUAL TRANSMISSION. speed shifting and so on. I turn to glance at that salesman. HE'S TOTALLY WHITE-KNUCKLING IT! .....He's loosening his tye! He's having trouble breathing! I ask him if he's alright and he says he's not used to "test drives" like this.
I told him it was going to be the same for the V6 and he might want to have someone else with me. Well, He took that as an insult or something and was having none of it.
So I basically I scared the crap out of him in the V6 too.
I was so impressed by the handling and accelleration of the 6 that I bought it. Also it was $5000 less.

It's as fast or faster than the early 70s to mid 80's GTs. The LX is a different story . .

yes, indeed KS,
and the handling is in a whole different universe than that of the 70's. The technology of automobiles has been steadily increasing since then but has taken and exponential leap in the last 5 years.
I wonder what a professional driver back in the 70's would have thought of the current day V6 if you could put it in a time machine and take it there. It probably would be mind blowing.....

HEY KS, how did you do all those mods already on a 2003!??!!??!!
My buddy bought a Mustang 'L' in 1984....Boy he took alot of flack! Wasn't the 'LX' just a small step up frome that?

One word- "ebay"

I bought the rear sway for $35.00+ $25.00 shipping, front for $25, etc.

I set aside $50 or so a month . . . plus I drive a lot, (54,000 miles so far). Tires were a necessity at 42,000, so I got a deal at Tire RAck.

None of the modern cars handle as well as my 68 did . . . but that car had a lot of suspension work.

I beat a rally driver in a Merkur XR4Ti in my 68, there's no way I could do that in my 82, 98, or 03. the understeer/snap oversteer is a killer!!

Hmm. I was wondering about that........I started seeing wheels that looked alot like mine but not "polished"
So it looks as though 245's will fit on a 7.5 wheel.......

Is it accurate to say that most production cars come with a pretty severe understeer from the factory?
How is the best way to correct that without modification to the suspension?
Adjusting camber and.....?
