Over the past few days it seems like I have to floor the gas pedal just to accelerate the car to a decent speed of 40-50 miles per hour. I checked the cable on the throttle body and it looks very loose. So my question is how do I tighten it.

Glad to hear the issue is resolved, similar issues can be caused by clogged injectors and if that happens its a lot worse to fix.
