Talking Bought my first Mustang today

So I bought my first Mustang today. It's a V-6 2000 Blue Coupe, and so far (the test drive), I'm very happy with it. I pick it up next friday and can't wait. So as a question to you guys, what am I in for? How is the performance and if I want to modify it a bit what are the first things I should think about? I used to drive a Celica so this is a very different car for me to have. So far I think it will be great. Funny how I get so much power at low RPM cmpared to the 4 banger Celica

well if you want performance i would get a manual... if its an auto i would seriously consider looking for another car thats a manual. the 99+ v6 mustangs run 15.5s with a manual tranny and 16.0s with the auto... so you see the difference.

mods are good most bolt ons will average you a tenth off your times~ rear end gears are the best bolt on you can get of couse and will shave off .3 or so tenths.

the 3.8 is a VERY easy motor to work on and parts are VERY cheap so its easy to keep the car running good and heck if you break teh tranny 800 bucks buys a brand new 5 speed you can get a used good running motor for 500 bucks its easy to get parts and n/a you can run low 13s with enough money invested gas milage is not the best... expect 25mpg~ with a 5 speed on average if its all stock.

Run to RPMoutlet.com and pick up a HO underdriver set, and you'll have a lot more fun!

Does the underdriver pully require you to recalibrate your speedo and odometer?

no, ther speedo and odo take measurements from your wheels, not your engine.

I should! I think I should get at least a sponsorship! But I pay the same prices everyone else does.

But they have the best prices on everything, except brake upgrades and wheel upgrades.

GTR sometimes has better prices for ProChargers.

But you really can't beat 'em for price and selection of 6 speed parts.

You'll notice I recommended Morana for the 1.8RRs, so I'm not partisan.
