Exclamation Interesting Licenses Plates...

Hey...Can anyone help me out with an interesting license plate for a '99 dark blue manual coupe? I wanna customize it with something to show its power. Any ideas please!

How many letters are you allowed?

But personally I don't like plates that "boast" or "brag", they come off tacky and show insecurity. What I suggest is something cleaver, understated, and would bring a smile, not laughter AT you.

The plate on my Mustang is “gityup”, and the plate on our MiniVan is “pplmvr” (our other car is just a standard plate).

im with sharley. unless the cars got massive amounts of hp, i wouldnt put it into a license plate. IE "v6fury" or anything equivalent would seem really lame. Heres an example of what I have

Do you have to pay a monthly fee for a custom license plate?

You have to pay a higher price per year for a vanity plate (not monthly). I have not only a vanity plate on my Mustang, but it is also a Veteran’s plate as well. When I got it I was told by someone that it would reduce my fees being I am a Veteran.

I had to bring in my documentation to prove I am a Vet, and then I was “authorized” to get the plate.

So I got the plate. Veteran’s Plate which is ALSO a vanity plate.

I have found out since then (because I have to renew it every year) that this is NOT the case (reduced Veteran rates), and that I actually pay MORE for the Veteran’s plate than for even a standard vanity plate. So my plate fees went up TWICE.

Yeah, way to go and support your Veterans DMV! I thought I didn’t have to keep the lube around once I got OUT of the service…. I was wrong. I guess the only thing I get from being a Vet is to sit beside the road during a parade and wave my little flag……..

(Sorry for the mini-rant. But this really bothers me.)

YRUHATN 2 Why are you hatin' too. I always liked this it was on one of my friends car. Or you can never go wrong with something like GMKILLR 2, but you better be ready to back it up.

If he can beat a 99+ Z28/Trans Am, a Z06, a Cadillac STS, or even a Holden Monaro (yes all cars of GM); hell Ill think about buying him the plate!

I think that if somebody decides to get a plate claiming he can beat cars of a competetor's brand, they better be able to out run most of their entire fleet of pony pushers.

Id say keep it general to the mustang family: FSTSTNG (fast stang) or 99BluCP (99blue coupe) or something of the sort.

I hear your pain. We have the same problem in VA. But the bright side is, if I get any Disability compensation, I qualify for Disabled Vet plates, which are free. Can't personalize them, but hey free is free!!!

Yes, we have the disabled thing here too… but you have to be VERY disabled (I am not sure the % but it is by far not simply pulling a disability check). I don’t think free plates are much of a “payment” or “reward” for that though. And I certainly wouldn’t want to BE disabled just so I get free plates.

My vanity plate costs me an extra $40 a year. I have one of the "children's" plates and part of the money goes into child abuse prevention charities....it's not stang related though. It reads (heart symbol)BR8KR (heartbreaker)

For us I beleive it is any amount of disability. So even if it is 10% then you qualify.
Yeah if it were a high % that wouldn't make me happy either.

My plates arent vanity but they are specialized. i have Law enfrocement plates so my # for example is somthing like 1358 with an L and underneath an E. its a police memorial plate that costs somthing like $95.00 to renew every year. i only hope that it is given to the people who deserve it. and if your wondering i am also going into the carear of law enforcement. i will post a picture if i have time.

i have a vanity plate on my cobra "UBINBIT". it costs an extra $35 every 2 years. if i saw anyone laugh at my plate, i'd most likely get the last laugh. check out this site. LOTS of vanity plates for stangs. http://links.vintage-mustang.com/index.html just scroll down the left "bar thingy" you'll see where it says vanity plates.
