Default V6 vs. 1999 Honda Prelude?

I think the Prelude has 200 hp, however I would imagine low torque. The question is would a stock (other than a K&N filter) 2000 manual Stang beat the Honda?

That's kinda what I though, a buddy of mine had one back a couple a years ago and it went quick. It really had nothin low end but as soon as the RPM got up it took off like a rocket. Time for some mods I guess :thumbsup

This is not helping. It is considered V6 bashing and will not be tolerated.

the 99 prelude is a I4 and has 200hp which it produces at 7000 rpm and 156lbs of torque wich it produces at 5250 rpm's so your 10hp short of his 200 BUT you reach your peak hp number at 5250, (much quicker than his 7000) and you have about 56 more lbs of torque which you hit at 2750 rpm's vs his 5250 again your hitting your peak numbers faster so i say you have a damn good chance because hes going to have really rev the hell out of his motor to hit his pace. your real disadvantage is weight. since your both sticks it should be a drivers race.

but if you want an edge, like i said, gears and some pullys for good measure.

Torque is more important than Horsepower although they are somewhat related and entertwined during a race depending how long a race is.
Weight ratio should be considered too.

no offense intended, but is it possible your driving skills needed work? because unless the prelude your talking about was modded, theres no reall reason why you would have needed to resort to the juice to take him, it really isnt that fast of a car.
