My friend has a 1998 V6 Mustang and is confused

My friend has a 1998 VG Mustang...he put a BBK Cold Air Intake and Custom True Duel Exhaust with custom piping and Flowmaster Mufflers...now he says his car is 220 hp? is that rice

by the way it is the most riced our Mustang i have seen in my life..he has a big white banner across the top of the winshield saying "Mustang" and a blue neon on the inside..plus his "Custom Exhaust" sounds liek an import and all he does is bad mouth imports..meanwhile he gets his butt handed to them all the time
this kid that lives near me has a 96 CObra and its the most amazing thing i have ever seen in my life and my friend with the v6 says he'll be able to run with him after his blower is ut in cuz he has a lot of HP gain from the exhausts and intake

Well 98's are rated at 155 HP I beleive, and I seriously doubt he would gain 65 HP from a cold-air induction and a dual exhaust.

well, i think your friend needs to slap his car on a dyno and have reality slap him in the face. You can not just add up the 25 horsepower that K&N says you gain from their filter to your Stock horsepower and call that 180 horsepower then. Some people just dont understand.

ok... then without the other stuff just give the supercharger a rounded 100HP gain (not that it will) but that puts him up to 250 HP.. .about where GT's are with the same boltons hes got now.
Yes 6's can be fast and ive seen a few in my day... but cars work as a system. Like Nic said, you cant take the 25 HP here and the 10 HP there...the numbers arent really that high.. as far as the looks go, everyone is allowed their own designing... but the people i usually associate with would deem it" Rice-a-roni... it may be domestic, but its still rice." I personally am not flamming the man, it may look good to some... i haven't seen it so i cant say anything.

Yes, I feel that our AFM moderators are strong in the ways of the Pony Force.... They will not let your friend be taken to the Dark Side of the "Rice"....

And if Adam (Vortex) SKYWALKER and Nicholas SOLO can't help your friend with some "wisdom on the web", then they might have to pull out their light sabers and show him the nearest dyno.

If he gets an ATI Blower, with the dual exhaust and (if he has the headers and underdrive pullies) he'll be able to run with him.

I don't think anyone would go through the expense of dual exhaust without doing the underdrivers first.

with the blower, he should net 220 at the wheels. Even more if he's running split port heads.

I wouldn't dismiss him just yet - But if he has the automatic, fugeddaboudit
