Default Seat Belt problems

ok, please tell me if anyone has this problem with their Mustang. My seat belts don't retract and when i go to connect the seat belt, it is harder than hell to pull out and then if i pull it out too far, it stayes out that far. Very loose or very tight, is this something with the Mustangs and the angle of the seat belt on the guide? not sure. Thanks for your answers!

If the belts go into the door maybe it's tangled in there?

Ok, after calling my local Ford dealer, they had me come in to look at them. They said that safety restraints have a 10 year warrenty on them. They ordered the new seatbelts for both sides and are going to put them in for free. Sweeeet

I have the same problem, When I pull it out it is fine but when I let go to let it retract it will then gets stuck so sometimes I have to push it in to not slam them with the door.

cool! Time to run down to Sunnyvale Ford, then... my driver's seatbelt fails to retract completely. It's a bit annoying, though not much of a safety issue, since it retracts enough to be snug when I'm inside it. I think that there's a bit of a twist somewhere in the mechanism that's fouling things up - it may be enough on mine to open it up and untwist it.

Yeah, I need to go down to the ford people in general... I'm coming up on 60K and my gas mileage is slightly suffering so I think a tune-up would do me good. Also I can get my squeaky windows fixed. Just a bunch of little things.

stock... unless a small Red Sox sticker on the corner of the back window counts as a mod!

just found this in the warranty guide:
"Safety Restraint Coverage
Under your New Vehicle Limited Warranty, Safety Restraint Coverage
begins at the warranty start date and lasts for five years or 50,000 miles,
whichever occurs first.
During this coverage period, Ford Motor Company or Ford Motor Vehicle
Assurance Company warrants your vehicle’s safety belts and air bag
Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) against defects in factory-supplied
materials or workmanship."

for the 5th re-write of our 2001 manual. is it possible that there is a 5-year warranty on that? since your post was in 2005, it would still fall under that?

My seat belts in my 02 are horrible, they don't retract at all but for some reason want to strangle me when i try to lean forward.
