go to a photo editor, and shrink it until the number of bytes are within the parameters allowed by the site software.

If it's too big, it will let you know.

exactly what kscoyote said. go into your control panel. click "edit avatar". then upload the photo. its gotta be pretty small. like thumbnail size.
