Default Pw windows and door locks

I was wondering if anyone has ever put an automatic lock and window system in their car. I have a stock 97 v6 with the old fashion crank windows, and I would like to add a little more luxury to it by powering everything. If you have any experience in this please let me know the cost, where I might find some type of kit, and how much labor is involved. Thanks for the help.

I would advise against doing it yourself. If you do do it though you have to replace the whole side panels on your car. Also if you really want to do it I'd have someone like a mechainc help you do it.

You are looking at major work . The best thing that you could do is go to a slavage yard and buy all related items needed . Door pads , power motors and window regulators , wireing harness and relays . It would be best if you removed all parts from the parts car as to get a good idea as how it goes . Takeing notes and even putting tags on the wireing harness as to what plugs in where . Remember , you have to have everything hooked up for any of it to work . The windows wireing run in a series so all switches have to be pluged in ---- at least factory wise . LIike I said before --- major work .

I work in a auto body garage ( 18 years ) . I mostly do refinish and painting but have seen this done . I`ve also seen cars were this was done wrong and the cars shorted out and caught fire too . Good Luck
